A race day that dawned Sunday morning with coffee and tears shared with his mom, Carol, ended after sunset with the gift of his helmet to car-owner Rick Hendrick.
In between, on the last day of his brilliant NASCAR career, Jeff Gordon bump-fisted countless fans, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with motorsports superstars Mario Andretti and Lewis Hamilton during […]

Minter: NASCAR Plods On With “Have At It, Boys”
| Senior Writer

By Rick Minter | Senior Writer
Unless there’s something going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about, NASCAR president Mike Helton has said “Have at it, boys” a lot louder than his VP Robin Pemberton said it back in January.
By only placing Carl Edwards on a three-race probation for intentionally wrecking Brad Keselowski at […]

Minter: Drivers Need To Speak Up
| Senior Writer

Hampton, Ga. – For the second time in less than a year, I’ve sat in a press box at a high-speed NASCAR track and watched a car be spun around, lift off the ground, turn upside down and slam into a retaining wall and catchfence.
At Talladega Superspeedway last year, it was Carl Edwards flying into […]

Ingram: Saturday Night Becomes Sunday Afternoon
| Senior Writer

By Jonathan Ingram | Senior Writer
From the Monday Morning Crew Chief:
Hampton, Ga. –  It might impugn the integrity of Saturday night short tracks to suggest events at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday seemed more minor league than major. But Carl Edwards’ single-minded pursuit of Brad Keselowski was reminiscent of a grudge match at the local […]
