The first day of the NHRA Northwest Nationals was canceled Friday evening after a persistent drizzle that began in the afternoon continued into early evening.
The weather, which was cool and overcast, washed out the first two qualifying sessions leaving two scheduled for Saturday left to determine the fields for Sunday’s championship eliminations at Pacific Raceway.
