A professional golfer is disqualified from a tournament after a TV viewer notices a rules violation and tips off the PGA.
Could a similar scenario play out during a NASCAR event?
Camilo Villegas received a jolt on his 29th birthday a week ago in Hawaii after learning he had been disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard. He was told that someone watching […]
Birmingham, Ala. – Rex White, NASCAR’s oldest living champion of the series now known as Sprint Cup, wasn’t about to let Atlanta’s treacherous, icy roads stop him from making his noontime appointment in Birmingham.
The 80-year-old driver skillfully steered his Mercury across icy patches and through nearly frozen slush and arrived at a Birmingham hotel in […]
The thought here is that it could be a big, important year in auto racing. A good big, important year or a bad big, important year.
As it should be, the determination of whether it will be good or bad will be made by the most important racing organization in America – racing’s fan base.

Looking back on this and other seasons of races past, the things that really stand out are the sights and sounds of the racing atmosphere. And one of the things that makes a race track experience enjoyable, as much as anything, is a good track announcer.
No matter how the races are going down on the […]
Former IZOD IndyCar Series champion Tony Kanaan has signed with de Ferran Dragon Racing for the 2011 season, giving the third-year team a high-profile driver to rival its president.
Kanaan, the 2004 series champion, will drive the No. 2 Dallara/Honda wheeled by fellow-Brazilian Rafael Matos in 2009-10, with a sponsorship package to be announced in 2011.
Driving without a wing man, Larry Dixon put the brakes on Tony Schumacher’s incredible six-year run as NHRA Top Fuel world champion last month.
That’s not to suggest Dixon single-handedly took down the three-team juggernaut fielded by Don Schumacher Racing. In addition to his own bad self, Dixon’s drive to a third title was orchestrated by […]
