Schumacher Ends His Skid In NHRA Top Fuel

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was not the only driver to end a long winless streak Sunday as NHRA driver Tony Schumacher did the same.
Schumacher, winless since 2010, won the Top Fuel portion of the ThunderValley Nationals. The victory ended the longest winless streak of the seven-time champion’s career at 32 races.

Marcos Ambrose of Richard Petty Motorsports won the pole on Saturday for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.
Ambrose won the pole with the fastest qualifying lap in track history – 203.241 mph. It is Ambrose’s first Cup pole.

INDYCAR, the sanctioning body for the IZOD IndyCar Series, announced Wednesday morning its scheduled Aug. 19 race in Qingdao, China, has been cancelled.
