Mayfield Again Banned From Driving

Indianapolis – Jeremy Mayfield is once again under suspension by NASCAR.
The re-suspension of the Sprint Cup team owner/driver is the result of an appeals court ruling made in North Carolina.
NASCAR suspended Mayfield under its substance abuse policy after he failed a test in May.
Mayfield opted to take the suspension to court and a U.S. District Judge ruled in his favor.
NASCAR then appealed that decision.
On Friday, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in NASCAR’s favor. As a result, Mayfield was again banned from driving in the series.
“We are pleased with the 4th Circuit Court’s ruling to reinstate NASCAR’s suspension of Jeremy Mayfield,” NASCAR said in a press release. “This is an important decision for NASCAR to make fair and equitable regulations for the safety of its competitors at the track. We will continue to make our case for as long as the litigation continues.”No Comment
