Clint Bowyer won Friday night’s Subway Jalapeno 250 Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway as he had the lead when a wreck occurred after a green-white-checkered restart.

Kyle Busch finished second and Joey Logano was third.

Carl Edwards, who started on the outside next to Bowyer on the final restart, had edged ahead of Bowyer just after the final green flag waved thanks to a push from Brad Keselowski.

But a push from Busch moved Bowyer back to the lead and then the crash back in the pack brought the race to an end under yellow.

Edwards finished fourth.

Busch’s finished moved him to 177 points over Edwards in the race for the championship. Keselowski, who finished fifth, is 263 behind Busch.

The victory was the first of the season for Bowyer, who was last year’s series champion but who is not running Nationwide full time in 2009.

It was Bowyer’s first victory in a restrictor plate race – in Nationwide or Cup. He led the most laps in the race, 48.
