We are pretty darn proud here to announce that RacinToday.com has been chosen to serve as the new host website for the most prestigious racing award in North America – the Driver Of The Year Award.

News, information, background and history concerning the DOTY is available on its own designated page on RacingToday and can be accessed by clicking on the green Driver of they Year box located on the RacinToday.com home page or by clicking on the “Special Content” pull-down tab on the black bar above.

The page will be updated on a regular basis with features, announcements and interactive attractions for fans.

The page launches today, July 1 and it launches with results of the second-quarter voting for the Driver of the Year.

The DOTY, which debuted in 1967 with Mario Andretti being honored with first award, is determined by a panel of 17 motor-racing journalists and broadcasters. It conducts five votes a year – it honors quarterly winners and an overall winner at the end of the season.

Winners are awarded the Driver of the Year trophy and a wristwatch by Tissot.
