Kahne’s now in second. Completely missed that.
It looks like we may go caution free here, so it’s going to be interesting to see if/when Stewart pits.
The cars that can’t make it are taking two tires and some gas. Good idea.
Stewart hasn’t pitted yet. Neither has Edwards.
How soon is the caution flag going to fly?
Stewart still leads; the top running car that can comfortably go to lap 200+ is Reutimann. Will NASCAR let that happen?
If this stays green, it could get messy in terms of fuel mileage.
I have my doubts about that actually happening.
Stewart gets a good restart, Edwards is second and Johnson is third
The cars that stayed out hit the pits, and Stewart regains the lead. Restart forthcoming.
Gotta give Dexter Bean some props for racing the whole race
And of course, it starts to rain
Stewart wins the race off of pit road.
But some cars stayed out, don’t know who.
CAUTION #5
Debris
Edwards still leads as there’s *only* 45 laps to go
Edwards will take the lead when all of the stops have cycled through
more green flag stops, as Edwards and Stewart pit together
There’s some great racing back in the pack, too bad that it gets more strung out than a drug addict without sleep for 36 hours after 10 laps.
And the caution that Stremme causes is of course during commercial
CAUTION #4
David Stremme gets into the wall with help from Junior
Stremme off the pace, but TNT deems him too unimportant to care about
Edwards leads them to the green flag
Johnson will be starting at the tail end of the longest line
Johnson should be penalized for that stop
Still have no idea what the heck happened.
