Daniel Suarez rocketed away from the field after the final restart on Lap 152 of 200 and went on to win the rain-delayed Xfinity Series race at Dover International Speedway on Sunday.

The victory earned Suarez entry in to the Chase playoffs’ field of eight.

Ty Dillon finished second, over 5 seconds behind Suarez. Justin Allgaier finished third.

“I’m very proud of this (Joe Gibbs Racing) team,” Suárez said. “They did a really good job today, and the guys just brought an amazing car. We had a ton of speed. This is one of those races that you would feel bad to lose.”

Suarez’s teammate, polesitter Erik Jones, finished 16 after developing a vibration in his car.

“I’m disappointed, you know?” Jones said. “It’s not how we wanted to run, for sure. Not a good day for us. Just frustrated and just really disappointed in how the first couple weeks have gone in the Chase.

“We’ve run so strong all year, and now to kind of fall on our face here the last couple weeks has been unfortunate. Just need to have a good day at Charlotte. We need to make up four points, get to the next round and start over. Hopefully, we can do that.”

Ryan Blaney, who sat in for Sprint Cup regular Joey Logano because the rain postponement in the No. 22 Team Penske Ford, finished fourth.

“It wasn’t quite what we wanted,” Blaney said. “We obviously want to finish better, but it wasn’t that bad all day.  There was a point in the day where I thought we were decent early, and then kind of overadjusted and the track changed.  The 19 was ridiculously fast.  That was incredible, but we probably could have run second, but didn’t quite get going on the last restart and couldn’t quite be close enough.”

Jones and Dillon, who wrecked while battling in the top five last weekend at Kentucky, remained outside the top eight in the Chase standings, with an elimination race looming on Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where the Chase field will be trimmed from 12 to eight.
