An all-Team Penske front row will lead the Xfinity Series to the green flag at the start of Saturday’s race the Watkins Glen International road course.

Joey Logano won the pole for the race on Friday afternoon while teammate Brad Keselowski was second fastest.

Team Penske has won the pole for the Xfinity Series race at The Glen for the last five-consecutive seasons.

Logano won last year’s race. His speed on Friday was 124.552 mph.

“It felt great,” Logano said of his fast lap. “It is funny because after the first round I told the guys that we have to run an 80 to get the pole and I think we ran an 85, which I didn’t think was going to be good enough. It barely was. We are all super proud of this 12 team. It is kind of a team that we kind of put together a bunch of people from the shop and run this car part time and it is a big deal for them to get out here and get a pole and have a nice starting spot for tomorrow.

Friday’s marks Logano’s first NXS pole of the 2016 season.  He has earned two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series poles already this season.

It was the first NXS pole of the season for Team Penske.

“It is also a big pick-me-up for Team Penske on the Xfinity side,” Logano said. “We have had a tough year as you know and it is nice to have some speed here at Watkins Glen this weekend and put it on the pole and take the front row. I am proud of that. We will see what happens. Hopefully we can do the same things we did last year.”

Keselowski’s qualifying speed was 124.325.

Paul Menard of Richard Childress Racing was third fastest in qualifying while Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyle Larson and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch filled out the top five.

“The lap was really good everywhere,” Busch said. “I felt like I didn’t miss anything, that’s just all we had. We were a little bit off and I’m disappointed in that and hopefully we can make it up in the race.”
