Hornish Wins NNS Pole At Talladega

Sam Hornish Jr.on Friday won the pole for Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Elliott Sadler and Darrell Wallace Jr. qualified second and third.

Hornish, who is making his first Nationwide start this season, had a fast lap of  186.783 mph in the closing seconds of the third and final round of Friday’s qualifying session.

It was his sixth career Nationwide pole.

The start will be the first of the season for Hornish, who is driving the No. 54 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Sadler’s fast lap was at 186.776 mph.

Wallace, who is also making his first Nationwide start this season, turned a lap at 186.729 mph.

Ryan Reed and Dakoda Armstrong rounded out the top five.
