Brown Moves To Top At Vegas
Antron Brown saved the best for last as he registered a 3.768-second pass on the final Top Fuel qualifying run of the weekend to earn the number one seed for Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The long-time Toyota driver earned the 34th No. 1 qualifier of his career and has now qualified in the top-five in each of the season’s first four races. Brown will enter tomorrow’s eliminations second in points.
“It’s going to be a fight all year long in Top Fuel,” said Brown. “It’s not just about being the fastest, but being the most efficient. To do it run-in and run-out is the key. We just want to keep getting better because if you don’t, you’re going to be left behind out here.”
Also earning poles were Courtney Force in Funny Car and Jeg Coughlin Jr. in Pro Stock.
