Vettel Wins Red Bull Battle
Three-time defending champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull staved off teammate Mark Webber to win the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Vettel fought it out with his teammate for most of the race at the Sepang circuit. Their cars almost made contact with each other. But Vettel grabbed the lead on the 46th lap and went on to get the victory.
Vettel leads Lotus Kimi Raikkonen, winner of the first race of the season, by nine points.
Webber was upset with his teammate after the race. Webber said that he had slowed while in the lead to save his tires and engine only to be passed by Vettel. Asked if the fight had him reconsidering his position at Red Bull, Webber said he had “a lot of things going through my mind.”
Vettel said he wasn’t aware of the situation until after the race and added that Webber should have got the win.
Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton finished third ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg.
The race was not a good one for Ferrari as Fernando Alonso crashed on the second lap. Teammate Felipe Massa finished fifth.
McLaren also had a bad day as Jenson Button retired. Sergio Perez finished ninth. No Comment
