Ford Riley’s Lead At 16-Hour Mark

As daylight began returning to Central Florida on Saturday, it showed that Ford’s and Riley’s  impressive showings in the Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona International werecontinuing.

In the lead in the Daytona Prototype class at the 16-hour mark was the No. 60 Ford Riley of Michael Shank Racing. Behind the wheel was Justin Wilson.

Second was the No. 8 Starworks Motorsports Ford Riley. Driving, the car, which started the race from the pole, was Lucas Luhr.

Third was Graham Rahal in the defending champion Chip Ganassi Racing No. 01 BMW Riley.

No major incidents occurred over night. In fact, the only major incident during the race was the blown engine sustained by the Corvette of SunTrust Wayne Taylor Racing. That occurred in the opening hour of the race. The car is out of the race.

Leading the GT class was the No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 being driven by Andy Lally.

Second was the No. 59 Brumos Porsche with Marc Lieb at the wheel.
