Sadler Claims NNS Pole

Elliott Sadler won the pole for Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday.

Trailing leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by 15 points in the battle for the series championship, Sadler put his No. 2 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet on the pole for Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge with a lap at 186.348 mph.

That was was .04 seconds faster than that of Kyle Busch (186.323 mph), who earned the second starting spot. Joey Logano (186.239 mph), Busch’s teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing, will start third, one position ahead of Stenhouse (186.136 mph).

Danica Patrick qualified 11th for her first competition since the Oct. 16 IndyCar Series finale at Las Vegas, where two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon lost his life during a 15-car accident. Patrick’s car and helmet feature paint schemes honoring Wheldon.
