Red Bull Racing, whose drivers this year are Kasey Kahne and Brian Vickers is under going change.

The team released the following statement today:

“Red Bull Racing Team is currently seeking outside investors as we evaluate next steps in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. We are not at liberty to comment on details while negotiations are under way. Red Bull fully supports NA for the remainder of the 2011 season as we fight for victories and a position in the 2011 Chase for the Sprint Cup.”

The team had high hopes going into the 2011 season. Vickers was healthy again after a problem with blood clotting has been successfully treated and Kahne was added for the season.

But heading to Infineon Raceway this week for race No. 16 of the season, neither driver appears likely to earn a Chase berth. Neither has a victory while Kahne is 19th in points and Vickers is 24th.

Red Bull has won just one race since arriving to NASCAR in 2007. That victory was logged by Vickers in 2009.

Vickers had 13 top-10 finishes that season and earned a berth in the Chase.

Red Bull energy drink owns and sponsors the team. The company is owned by Dietrich Mateschitz of Austria.
