Keselowski Captures Pole For The 600

Brad Keselowski on Thursday won the pole for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The pole is the first of Keselowski’s season and the second of his career. His other pole came at New Hampshire last fall.

He is driving the No. 2 Penske Racing Dodge Charger. His speed on his quick lap was 192.089 mph.

Second fastest was A.J. Allmendinger in a Richard Petty Motorsports Ford. His lap was at 191.693 mph.

Carl Edwards of Roush Fenway was third and Denny Hamlin of Joe Gibbs Racing was fourth.

Jeff Burton was fifth in a Richard Childress Racing Chevy.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jimmie Johnson, David Reutimann, David Ragan, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Clint Bowyer.

Stenhouse  was attempting to make his first Cup start. He is subbing for Trevor Bayne in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford.
