St. Pete Singles on Sale

Single-day reserved grandstand and general admission tickets for the IZOD IndyCar Series’ Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg are now on sale.

Billed as the World’s Fastest Spring Break Party , the race’s sixth edition will return to the streets of downtown St. Petersburg from March 25-27 as the IndyCar season-opener. Will Power of Team Penske is defending champion of an event that will launch the series’ 18-race schedule.

In addition, support races from the Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda Championship, USF 2000 National Championship and Acura Sports Car Challenge of the SCCA World Challenge will complete the racing schedule.

Single-day reserved tickets are available for Sunday’s IndyCar event, and range in price from $60 to $80 for adults and from $35 to $55 for juniors. Meanwhile, general admission tickets on Sunday are priced at $40 for adults and $15 for juniors, while general admission on Friday and Saturday will range from $25 for adults and $10 for juniors.

“IndyCar racing officially begins in St. Petersburg this year,” said Tim Ramsberger, vice president and general manager of the race. “With all the excitement that’s going to be happening, fans will want to make sure they have their seats saved for Sunday’s big race. We offer a variety of ticket options for race weekend, along with onsite entertainment like never before, making our event a must for motorsports fans and festival-goers.”

The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is run on a 1.8-mile, 14-turn waterfront circuit that includes a combination of adjacent downtown streets circling Pioneer Park, the Progress Energy Center for the Arts, the Salvador Dali Museum and extending onto runways at Albert Whitted Airport that overlook the Bay and picturesque St. Petersburg Harbor and Marina.

Helio Castroneves of Team Penske is two-time champion (2006-07) of an event first contested in 2005. Past winners include Dan Wheldon of Andretti Green Racing (2005), Graham Rahal of Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing (2008) and Penske’s Ryan Briscoe (2009).

Fans can purchase tickets online at www.gpstpete.com or by phone at 877-283-5385. In addition, customers who purchase reserved single-day tickets for Sunday’s event will receive a free ticket to the IndyCar Series season-finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 16.
