Value Pricing Period At MIS Coming To An End
Brooklyn, Mich.– The Value Pricing Period for tickets to all 2011 events at Michigan International Speedway will conclude at 9 p.m. (ET) on Monday, Feb. 28.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tickets for the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 on Sunday, June 19, and NSCS 400 on Sunday, Aug. 21, are now priced at $25. That ticket will cost $30 after VPP ends on Monday.
Reserved seats for either Cup race currently start at $35; those seats will be $39 on Tuesday. Children 12-and- under will be admitted free in general admission seats this season. Children 17-and-under will pay half-price admission for reserved seats.
Saturday tickets also are a VPP value. Tickets for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on June 18 are $20 now, but will increase to $40 Tuesday. Tickets for the VFW 200 Camping World Truck Series race Aug. 20 are $15, but will increase to $30.
The average price of a Sprint Cup race ticket at MIS is $56, same as it was in 1998. “There has never been a more exciting or more affordable time to be a NASCAR ticketholder,” said MIS President Roger Curtis. “On the heels of one of the most exciting Daytona 500 races and a great start to the 2011 season, we’re thrilled to offer great times at a great price for fans and families.”
In addition, MIS has approved an increase to its cooler and bag sizes. Fans may now bring in a 10×10x12-inch soft-sided cooler and an 18×18x4-inch bag or lightweight backpack at all events.
The 2011 schedule will begin with the Great Lakes Wine Fest on Saturday, May 21.
First racing at the 2-mile oval will be the ARCA Series RainEater Wiper Blades 200 on Friday, June 17. NASCAR’s Nationwide Series will compete on Saturday, June 18, with the Sprint Cup Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 on Sunday, June 19.
Meijer Pole Day will kick off the second race weekend on Friday, Aug. 19. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series VFW 200 will run on Saturday, Aug. 20, with the Cup race on Sunday, Aug.21.
