Busch Nabs NNS Pole

Kyle Busch, who won Friday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway, won the pole for Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at PIR.

Busch posted a lap at 134.298 mph, which set the track record.

Carl Edwards was second fastest in qualifying for the race, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. Edwards’ fast lap was at 133.328 mph.

Joey Logano was third and defending series champion Brad Keselowski was fourth.

Brian Scott was fifth while Ryan Newman, Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne, Steve Wallace, Kevin Harvick and Reed Sorenson rounded out the top 10.

Only 40 cars made qualifying runs.
