Kyle Busch won the pole Friday for Saturday’s Kroger 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway.

For the first time in a NASCAR major-series event, four women will be in the starting lineup. Johanna Long qualified 17th, and Jennifer Jo Cobb was 36th. Twin sisters Angela Cope (33rd) and Amber Cope (35th) also qualified.

“I think it’s great,” Busch said of the females in the field. “I think that Johanna (Long), she’s done a really nice job in the starts that she’s been able to make. Unfortunately she had an engine failure right off the get-go at Vegas.

“I think the Martinsville, the way this place is and of course going through the NASCAR approval process, obviously it’s easy for them to make some starts here at Martinsville. I think it’s just another car number when you come up to them, you have to pass them. It’s not that they’re going to be treated or looked at any differently than anybody else.”

Busch’s top lap was 96.205 miles per hour. He edged second-place Matt Crafton by .046 of a second.

Completing the top five were Ron Hornaday Jr., Kevin Harvick and Johnny Sauter.

Point leader Todd Bodine qualified 24th.
