Kevin Harvick managed hold off Brad Keselowski over the final laps of Friday night’s Nationwide Series Race at Richmond International Raceway and escape with the victory.

The margin of victory for Harvick over points-leader Keselowski was .2 seconds.

Harvick, who won the pole for the race earlier in the day, led a race-best 170 laps.

The victory was Harvick’s third of the season and 37th of his career, third all-time in the series. The owner/driver for Kevin Harvick Inc. led 170 of the 250 laps and was as happy as an owner as he was a driver.

“This is the future of our company, so we put a lot of effort into this program, knowing that all the other cars were going to go away, and knowing that we had to be good with this car,” Harvick said.

“RCR’s (Richard Childress Racking, which provides support) been a big part of this as well, with the engines, the chassis and the engineering. Everybody’s been working together. It’s easy when you get started in the right direction to keep it going that way.”

Trevor Bayne finished third and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was fourth.

Reed Sorenson was fifth and Denny Hamlin was sixth.
