Kevin Harvick on Friday afternoon won the pole for Friday night’s Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

Harvick’s fast lap was at 123.990 mph.

Second fastest was Clint Bowyer, Harvick’s Sprint Cup teammate at Richard Childress Racing.

Bowyer turned a fast lap at 123.88 7 mph.

Brad Keselowski of Penske Racing, the series points leader, qualified third fastest.

Right behind Keselowski was the driver who is closest to him in the series standings, Carl Edwards of Roush Fenway Racing.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were fifth and sixth fastest.

The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 race is scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern.
