Brian Ickler will make his Roush Fenway Racing debut this weekend in the Tech-net Auto Service 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway driving the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion. It is Ickler’s fourth career Nationwide Series start, but his first at the 1.5-mile track.

Ickler takes the place of Colin Braun, who was taken out of the truck after a series of crashes.

Ickler, a native of San Diego, will also drive the No. 16 entry at Nashville Superspeedway next weekend.

Ickler joins Roush Fenway after a promising start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In only 13 starts, Ickler tallied four top-fives, five top-10s and two pole awards, including two top-five finishes in his last two starts coming at Martinsville and Kansas this season. The 24-year-old also made his mark in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and

West divisions notching seven wins in 43 starts. “I am really looking forward to my first start for Roush Fenway Racing this weekend,” Ickler said. “Charlotte is a track I’ve been to in the Truck Series so I’m familiar with it which will make things a little easier. I’m excited to work with this veteran group of guys on the No. 16 team. We have all the tools for a great finish and I’m anxious to see what we can do with them.”

The Tech-net Auto Service 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, May 29 at 2:30 P.M. EST.
