NASCAR has placed Clint Bowyer, driver of the No. 21 car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, on probation until June 16 for a rule violation he committed during the race at Dover International Speedway on May 15.

Bowyer was found to have violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing – aggressive driving) of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rule Book.

Bowyer was involved in a crash during the race with Denny Hamlin. Bowyer’s car had to go to the pits for repairs.

When he returned to the track, Bowyer immediately slammed into Hamlin. Bowyer was then parked by NASCAR and ordered to report to the NASCAR hauler for a chat with series officials.

The probation covers all three of NASCAR’s major series. Bowyer races full time in the Sprint Cup Series and has been driving the No. 21 Zaxby’s car for Richard Childress Racing since John Wes Townley was taken out of the car.

Bowyer gets probation until June 16th??

Come on NASCAR what does putting these spoiled brats on probation do………..I’ll tell you what it does NOTHING!! OK Clint, you got wrecked…….so rather than ruin a race car you didn’t build why not wait for Denny after the race some where and the two of you iron it out off track??
God…………I miss the good old days of NASCAR when racing was racing and money didn’t play the role it does today.

    Mark Martin fan forever

I thought “have at it boys” was the new deal from on high? Guess not. Hamlin got what he deserved, his “mis judging starts” is becoming a bad habit.

NASCAR needs to figure out what they want from the drivers and be consistent.
