Joey Logano won the pole for Saturday’s O’Reilly 300 Nationwide Series race when he turned a qualifying lap at 185.663 mph at Texas Motor Speedway.

The pole was the third of the season for Logano in the series. He also was fastest qualifier at Auto Club Speedway and Nashville.

“It’s good,” Logano said of his car. “I’m not sure how I am in race trim. I think I’m okay – I’m a top-fiver. Which seems like when we come here most of the time I’m like that. I don’t think I’m a winning car by no means. We’ll keep plugging through the day.”

Second fastest in the session was Clint Bowyer, who is back in the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing car in the place of John Wes Townley. Townley was taken out of the car after he crashed it last weekend during practice at Phoenix International Raceway.

Kyle Busch was third fastest and Carl Edwards fourth.
