Rodney, the fine group at jayski.com already did the homework. Even if JJ had been under the old points system, he'd have 3 championships now. The other one would have gone to JG in 2007, giving Gordon 5 (which I'm sure would irk you even more.) Even if you're not a fan of the guy, just give credit where credit is due. He WILL contend with the record set by Richard/Dale, and bud...you'll just have to get over it, or quit watching, your choice, either way it's happening. GO JJ!!!

Ya still don't get it u can not put JJ on the same playing field as a Cale Yarborough this man is not in the same category as a Gordon or a Earnhardt Petty, Allison ,Waltrip , he started his run when the playing field was even he didn't take a commanding lead and hold it to the end like these other drivers did he is not considered a true champ because nascar wanted to make the playing field even and if u go back and look if we were under the old format he might have 1 championship so he has no respect from the older fans like me so all you people need to stop it stop comparing and ask what is wrong with our sport and our drivers instead of wondering why no one likes the chump i mean champ

I have been a Jimmie Johnson fan since his rookie run in ASA. He attracted me right from the beginning. I have very little "fan-stuff", never got into it much but in this case I really don't care for the look of the Lowe's cars, just that simple. I do have a front license plate that I have had since 2004, and a hat. To be fair, though, I have never been very outward with clothing representing my favorites (before Jimmie was Darrell, Jeff, and Bobby Labonte. Had more stuff of Jeff's and Bobby's than any due to the fact that they always looked great. The Interstate Battery cars were the best looking racecars ever. And the early rainbow DuPont cars were great, very colorful. The only Johnson cars that have really appealed to me are the Kolbalt schemes.
